This Cancellation and Deferral Policy (“Policy”) governs cancellations, deferrals, substitutions, and credits for registrations to workshops, courses, certification programs, and similar offerings with a scheduled start date (“Programs”) provided by American Institute for Professional Training and Development, Inc. (“AIPTD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Policy is incorporated by reference into the AIPTD Registration Payment Terms and our Terms of Use.
To cancel, defer, or substitute, email cancellations@aiptd.org. Your request is effective on the date you send it, as shown by the email’s timestamp. AIPTD will confirm receipt in writing within two business days; if you do not receive a confirmation, contact us to verify that your request arrived. All references to days below are calendar days, counted backward from the first scheduled session of the Program, based on Pacific Time.
Refund Schedule

Once a Program’s first session has begun, no refund or credit is available for that registration, except as provided under “Emergencies” below.
Substitutions
You may transfer your registration to another individual you designate at no charge at any tier, up to 24 hours before the Program begins. Email us the substitute’s name and contact information, and we’ll handle the rest. Substitution is the fastest way to preserve the full value of your registration when your calendar changes.
Deferrals
You may defer once per registration, at no charge, to any AIPTD Program scheduled to begin within 12 months of your original Program’s start date, provided you request the deferral at least 14 days before your original Program’s start date. Deferrals are confirmed based on space available. A second deferral of the same registration carries an administrative fee of $250 or the amount you paid for the registration, whichever is less. If Program fees increase between your original registration and the deferred Program, you’ll be responsible for the difference.
Credits
Credits from cancellations, deferrals, or emergency accommodations apply to any AIPTD Program beginning within 12 months of your original Program’s start date. Credits may be used by you or transferred to another individual you designate, but hold no cash value. After 12 months, unused credits are forfeited and cannot be refunded.
Emergencies
If a documented medical issue, family emergency, or comparable circumstance prevents you from attending, contact us as soon as possible. AIPTD will review these situations individually and in good faith, and may offer a credit toward a future Program at its discretion, regardless of timing.
Program Changes and Cancellations by AIPTD
Programs require a minimum enrollment to run. If a Program does not meet minimum enrollment, AIPTD may reschedule or cancel it. AIPTD may also cancel or reschedule a Program due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (for example, and without limitation, instructor illness), in which case we will give as much notice as practicable. If we cancel a Program, you will receive a full refund. If we reschedule, your registration carries forward automatically, or you may request a full refund or credit if the new date does not work for you. AIPTD is not responsible for travel, accommodation, or other ancillary costs you may have incurred.
