Cancellation And Deferral Policy
Plans change, and your registration is built to flex with them: substitutions are free at every stage up to 24 hours before the session, and most changes can be resolved with a deferral or credit. To cancel, defer, or substitute, email cancellations@aiptd.org. Your request takes effect on the date AIPTD confirms receipt in writing; please allow up to two business days. All references to days below are calendar days, counted backward from the program’s first scheduled session.
- 30 or more days before the start dateFull refund, or 100 percent credit toward another AIPTD program within 12 months.
- 14 to 29 days beforeNo cash refund. Choose a 100 percent credit toward another AIPTD program within 12 months, a free deferral to a future cohort, or a free substitution.
- 13 days or fewer beforeNo refund or credit. You may still send a colleague in your place at no charge up to 24 hours before the program begins.
- No-showRegistration is forfeit. No refund, credit, or deferral applies.
You may transfer your registration to a colleague at no charge at any tier, up to 24 hours before the program begins. Email us the substitute's name and contact information, and we'll handle the rest. Substitution is the fastest way to preserve the full value of your registration when your calendar changes.
You may defer once per registration, at no charge, to any AIPTD program scheduled to begin within 12 months of your original payment date, provided you request the deferral at least 14 days before your original program's start date. Deferrals are confirmed based on space available. A second deferral of the same registration carries a $250 administrative fee. If program fees increase between your original registration and the deferred program, you'll be responsible for the difference.
Credits from cancellations, deferrals, or emergency accommodations apply to any AIPTD program beginning within 12 months of your original payment date. Credits may be used by you or transferred to a colleague at your organization, but hold no cash value. After 12 months, unused credits are forfeit and cannot be refunded.
If a documented medical issue, family emergency, or comparable circumstance prevents you from attending, contact us as soon as possible. AIPTD will review these situations individually and in good faith, and may offer a credit toward a future program at its discretion, regardless of timing.
Programs require a minimum enrollment to run. If a program does not meet minimum enrollment, AIPTD may reschedule it, with notice at least 14 days before the original start date. If we cancel a program, you'll receive a full refund. If we reschedule, your registration carries forward automatically, or you may request a full refund or credit if the new date doesn't work for you. AIPTD is not responsible for travel, accommodation, or other ancillary costs you may have incurred.
